PASTOR HARRY CARLSON HONORED
Congratulations to Pastor Harry Carlson
(retired), who was recently awarded the 2009 Heroes of
Human Services Award by the Sacramento County Board of
Supervisors. He was recognized for his more
than 30 years of pastoral ministry and service on
the Drug & Alcohol and Mental Health Advisory Boards.

NEW DEGREE PROGRAM OFFERED AT
LUTHER SEMINARY
Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, in conjunction with
Saint Mary's University in Minneapolis, has created a
dual degree program that offers students a Master of Arts in
Theology and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family
Therapy. Students who enroll full time will be able to
earn both degrees in three to four years. Graduates are
eligible for state licensure in 50 states.
The application deadline for Luther Seminary is July 1,
but students interested in grants and financial aid are
encouraged to apply by March 1.

JESUS, JUSTICE, JAZZ CONCERT TOUR
FOR ELCA WORLD HUNGER
Reminder
-- on Friday, January 29, the
Jesus, Justice Jazz tour comes to Sacramento for its only
California stop.
Join Lost and Found and Agape in
concert to benefit ELCA World Hunger and local hunger
concerns. Sponsored by St. John's Lutheran Church, the
concert will be held at The Refuge, an all-ages club in
midtown Sacramento.
Tickets are $10 and space is limited. Tickets can
be purchased through Lisa Herlocker, Director of Youth &
Family Ministry at Bethel Lutheran Church, Roseville ( lherlocker@starstream.net); or for a slight fee
